With a lion roar
As I proclaim this heart,
This pure wisdom,
There is no dearth
Of naysayers,
Conjurers of potboilers,
Evil imaginings
Within and without beginning.
As I speak
With several above me,
No one below me,
Humility beckons.
I reckon
That this is it:
The way of the world,
As I win it,
Hold close this pearl.

Proclaiming your heart
Tuesday, 19 December 2017
An ode to my mother
When you smile,
I say something.
Mean.
I mean it.
But I don't.
You want something,
I take you for granted.
But.
I love you.
Priceless.
Unconditional.
Tigress.
Puppy love.
Dove of peace,
And fortune.
Know.
That you are irreplaceable.
Milky, sweet, strong, firm.
Like.
Honeytrap.
Deluding me.
From the harshness of the world.
My love for you.
Not enough.
Tears.
Don't leave.
Our love
Love. All knowing.
In flux. Surefooted.
Love. Peace.
Compassion.
Memories transformed.
Tigers vs pigeons.
Rats vs elephants.
Mother's love.
My love. Your love.
We love. We decide.
We give. We give up.
We take. We slander.
Love. We fight.
We shriek as the
Pain gets too much,
But we know
That we have to
Love.
Forgiveness
My heart was hard,
Unbecoming, crude,
For all its afflictions.
For all the misfortune,
You bestowed upon me,
Silent, closed, rueful.
My stomach a pit,
My mind warped,
My heart was hard.
No feather seemed
Heavier on it,
My shins burdened
By the weight of my belly.
Till your friendship
Touched me
My heart was hard.
I love you now,
My blood is gentler.
It flows not knowing
Where it goes
But surer.
The dark cloud,
I don't oft see,
Because
My heart is lighter now.
