And then live till a hundred and thirty
With my veritable husband; we have faced
Challenges real but the love is even more real,
Tangible as his kisses, hugs, love-making and tears,
Tangible as the ocean wave that lashed our toes
At forty and the windfall from the cinemas
That ensconced us and caused so much chiming
And rhythm and love and dance and gaiety,
And at sixty prosperous us in love with twenties
And eternal love, vowing to me my husband wowing
Me says: "Forever mine, pretty you, forever
My heart's cord, forever beautiful you;
Vanquish evil we did, and my love for you
Is eternal and true; why so blue? "
Let's drink up some wine to that, an eternally happy
Life we have, eternally joyous, eternally victorious, eternally youthful!
To a hundred and thirty with my hubbard!
