Farewell

Eons and eons ago I broke you, I tore you apart, And now you're back with a bang dear, Now, where should we start? I tried so hard to mend the fences, But, now you've built walls dear, I'm short of defences. I fear, oh yes, I fear Losing the mere plot in time, What's the point of allegories, If it's only but a rhyme? It's a heartfelt story, Not a picture down in time, That we befriended, grew apart, And never kept time. We danced till the meadows glistened, And the animals lay to rest, I did not know then, That every meeting was a test. We held some undetermined goals, And of that thee never spake, What was mine I still have, The rest is all at stake. I broke, I held back, I didn't mind the endless lying, But, you know what dear, I haven't given up trying. For as the winds blow, And the birds, they chirp, You'll see that we both know, We were more in grip With all things gone past, These eons they have passed. Life has come a full circle, And sooner than we surmassed. Lest I see this again, I know we'll celebrate this becoming, Each in his own tomb, Let's rejoice this beginning. Eons will pass, and we'll meet again my dear, And meet goals as we all did, So goodbye, farewell, I bid. But, there are no farewells, For the wind will blow again, And the waves they'll come and go, But eons will pass instead. I held some motley child in my heart, My guts were wrenched to bits, So much for passing the baton, We are all merely crits.
