The Difficulty of Being Good

Wonderful life good things happen to good people

And karma is truly a bitch sometimes, 

But if you sow the seeds of happiness

Then harmony and grace fall fast in time;

So as you sow you reap

As you think you beep

As the creepers like in lotus ponds

Vine about amidst the swans, 

As the moon shaft hits the Earth

And as the sun blesses all

Equally so does the Law

Gurantee enlightenment uniquely for all;

Absolute happiness is courage and wisdom

And the right view in right concentration 

Because work is worship

Oh what a life! 

All nature's much-loved creatures

Created for life and loving

And harmonious living;

Life prevails when goodness prevails;

The difficulty of being good arises

When the creeper

In the Lotus pond

Is violated 

And the swan

Begins its swan song. 

So let's shout out:

Life is precious

And let the swans

Dance in life

Amidst the Lotus

In all happiness! 

All God's creatures, 

All Allah's beings, 

All Buddhas

In a Lotus pond;

Victory, victory, victory

For all!
