When you would come to me so loyally
Showing me your many faces
Of innocence and nobility.
You are here to feed off
The outpourings of my soul
And we are no more caged,
No more bound to tell and show.
I feed you well, I keep you healthy,
I keep you clean and sound
And where else could divine love be found
If not in my hearth and home?
I've given you direction, the map is drawn
And sometimes you are in flight
And sometimes you fawn
But never for a day since today
Have I felt fright
Rebuilding us God's way.
And whether it is to love,
Whether it is to play
I serve sometimes
And sometimes I slay
For your beauty is so alluring,
Your voice is so golden,
The most hopeful
Of all I've beholden.
